The courses offered are Basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing with 50 and 10 seats respectively.

BSc Nursing Course
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • The minimum age of admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. No relaxation of minimum age will be allowed.

  • The minimum educational requirement shall be the passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 yr course)

    OR
     

  • Senior School Certificate Examination (10 +2)or an equivalent with 12 yrs schooling from a recognized Board University with Physics , Chemistry , Biology , as optional and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

  • Candidate shall be medically fit.

M.Sc. Nursing
Scientific and Technological advancements have created complexity in the field of nursing which require prompt up dating of knowledge and skill on various specialty and super specialty areas which encourages accountability and commitment in various settings Post Graduate programme prepare nurses to assume the positions as nurse specialists, educations, counselors, Administrators, Researchers and facilitation of Evidence Based Practice in meeting health care priorities and charging needs of the society with this view M.Sc. Nursing course was started during the academic year 2011-2012 in two specialties with 5 seats each .Medical Surgical Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.

Sanctioned strength is 10 in two specialties 5 of each (Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing)
Eligibility

  • Candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwifes with Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.

  • The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of regular degree course in Nursing with minimum 55% aggregate marks, is an institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council

  • Minimum one year experience after B.Sc. Nursing .One year Compulsory nursing Services/internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc. Nursing can be considered as experience.

  • Minimum one year of experience prior to as after regular Post B. Sc. Nursing.

  • Candidate shall be medically fit

  • Relaxation of marks for SC/ST Candidates as per state govt.norms.

  • Selection of the candidates shall be based on merit of the entrance examination held by state government /University or Competent authority.

The courses are recognized by Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and Kerala University of Health Sciences.

  • 50% of seats BSc. Nursing and MSc. Nursing are from Govt. allottement
